Archaeological work at the construction site in Parutino

In October in the territory of the Nikolaev area of ​​our area, the COMPANY WITH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY "MYKOLAIVBUDMEKHANIZATSIYA" received for the activity the site of the earth on which the archeological monument Katelino-1 is located. Responsible attitude and awareness in the field of protection of cultural heritage and archeological monuments of the native land of the company's management in the person of Zubko VO and Gordiychuk OP and the head of field work Paraskun SM led to the invitation of archaeologists to the site of the construction site. Where scientific and rescue archaeological research and supervision of earthworks were conducted.
The settlement of Katelino-1 is located near the north-western outskirts of the village of Katelino on the steppe plateau of the right bank of the Katelinovskaya beam, one km west of the estuary. Partially destroyed on the road Mykolaiv - Parutino, part is occupied by a modern cemetery. Opened in 1925.
With the help of equipment provided by Mykolayivbudmekhanizatsiya LLC, a layer of humus and construction and household waste was removed on the territory adjacent to the Katelino-1 monument and to the south of it. Researchers of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and VO Sukhomlinsky MNU conducted archaeological work in order to record the thickness of the cultural layer. The boundaries of the monument to the south have been discovered, the thickness of the cultural layer has been established. Archaeological materials (bronze coins, lead ritual ornaments, fragments of ceramic material of ancient times - the end of IV-III centuries BC) were removed from the pits. Earthworks should be stopped and conservation works should be carried out on the site (filling up to 1.5 m in the area of ​​the archeological monument).
